Why this job matters

This is a pivotal role at the heart of new EE, accountable for driving strategic pricing decisions, our household approach, our approach to regulation and the evolution of our pricing operations.  

 

This role enables significant opportunity to galvanise customer relationships and deliver greater commercial value and growth for the business.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will lead a team of 18, providing strategic thought leadership in the areas below, as well as leading, supporting and motivating your team to deliver high quality and innovative output in line with Marketing and Consumer strategy and objectives.   
  • You will be instrumental in increasing the focus of Consumer on customer and household level thinking
  • Accountable for Consumer-wide pricing decisions such as our annual price rise price and plan worth hundreds of £m per annum
  • Accountable for strategic cross product and household level pricing and frameworks, working in alignment with the Senior Manager, Convergence Propositions
  • Accountable for leading Consumer’s work on fairness and risks / resolutions within this area
  • Accountable for terms & conditions (and changes to these) that support pricing flexibility, and support the long term commercial and strategic goals of Consumer 
  • Accountable for leading Consumer’s response to new and evolving regulatory requirements, and ensuring that our outcomes are always optimized, through our pricing and overall position – working closely with regulatory & legal areas, and across the Marketing & Consumer organization. 
  • Support Group Regulatory & Compliance functions in ensuring that we are fully compliant with all legal & regulation requirements and have the right levels of governance and checks in place to support this.
  • Accountable for flawless execution of pricing decisions and trading support, leading the Pricing Operations area.
  • Lead and shape the evolution of our Pricing Operations as new IT and Pricing capability is rolled out, ensuring that all current flexibility and capability is maintained and we build new tools and additional agility moving forward.   
  • Support both internal and external audit processes as required 
  • You will be involved in shaping and delivering multiple significant programmes across Consumer, ensuring that Household aspects are considered – including customer migrations, introduction of new contract types/lengths, activity to manage end of life services or partnerships from a Household perspective, etc. 
     

The skills and experience you will have under your belt

Must have: -

  • Business strategy experience
  • In-depth industry knowledge and intel
  • Excellent and intuitive commercial acumen
  • The ability to navigate complex matrix environments and cut through political challenges
  • The ability to provide thought leadership in challenging areas, make clear proposals for agreement, and also to deliver for customers with strong attention to detail and high quality execution
  • A hunger to provide the very best customer service and be relentless in the pursuit of exceeding the needs of our customers
  • Strong story telling and communication skills (written & verbal) to build a clear case for change in complex areas

 

Would be good to have: -

  • Extensive experience in the Telco sector
  • Extensive experience of pricing strategies and levers
  • Experience of customer level and household level thinking and strategies
  • Experience of regulatory and legal landscape within the telco sector
  • Experience of pricing operations and delivery, alongside broader GTM delivery experience
  • Experience of leading broad and diverse teams
  • Experience of venturing into new product lines, at scale
