Why this role matters
Winning in New Markets is a strategic consumer priority, targeting £5bn in revenue by 2030. This growth will be driven by expanding EE’s presence in new markets such as Insurance, Cyber & Home Security, Gaming, and Tech. Significant progress has already been made, with current expectations to deliver a budget of £0.9bn and £0.2bn in margin, alongside further opportunities to be identified, sized, and delivered to meet our long-term ambition.
This role holds end-to-end accountability for Gaming within the Commercial & Marketing function, covering everything from executing the distribution strategy across direct and indirect channels, to owning commercial performance, proposition development, and trading levers. You’ll also lead key Go-To-Market moments, working cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business to ensure the Medium-Term Plan targets are achieved.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the execution of the Gaming distribution strategy across all direct and indirect channels, ensuring revenue and margin targets are met in line with the Medium-Term Plan.
- Managing commercial performance for all Gaming products and services, including planning and trading to achieve volume, value, market share, and channel targets.
- Driving quarterly trading success by recommending and implementing commercial levers such as promotions, cost-per-acquisition strategies, and investment plans.
- Owning the commercial plan and roadmap for Gaming across all channels, supporting the omni-channel strategy and ensuring best in class execution.
- Supporting the development and delivery of the Gaming marketing plan, including demand generation, propositions, base activity, and launch plans to underpin commercial goals.
- Overseeing partner channel relationships, managing commercial contracts, setting commission models, and making strategic decisions to deliver on commercial ambitions.
What skills you’ll need
- Strong understanding of financial performance drivers including revenue, EBITDA, and FCF, with the ability to build business cases that support commercial interventions.
- Proven experience in driving and optimising commercial performance across direct and indirect partners, assisted channels (e.g. retail and contact centres), and delivering consistent digital growth.
- Entrepreneurial approach to identifying and executing growth opportunities, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated success in implementing and leading change initiatives that improve commercial performance across business functions and marketing channels.
- Ability to distil complex performance data and narratives into clear, concise, and audience-tailored content for stakeholders at all levels.
- Desirable: Subject matter expertise in the Gaming sector, including market context, trading, distribution approaches, and indirect partnerships such as affiliate marketing. A degree-level education or relevant professional qualification is preferred.
