The purpose of this role is to provide technology expertise to drive the delivery of outcomes as well as coach and lead of a team of Software Engineers. Leads a team composed of technical practitioners to plan and design converged technology solutions, providing technical expertise to support. The role is focused on best practices, technology, and delivering business value through high quality software.  Delivers software solutions that provide business value and meet customer requirements, including necessary designs, documentation, automated testing, deployment and in-life support. Reviews team outputs to confirm adherence to quality standards and alignment to customer requirements, providing validation and sign-off on designs. Leads by example demonstrating hands on capability within Big Data. 

What you’ll be doing

•    Specialist in MDM & Reltio, technologies and with e2e designing.  Able to improve/ automate builds using DevOps.
•    Drives the design, coding, unit testing, and deployment of data processes for ingestion and transformation of data while keeping data security and privacy in mind.
•    Leads the development of architecture and design patterns to process and store high volume data sets.
•    Leads key projects using advanced technical knowledge to drive new solutions to large, open-ended problems that may be ambiguous or lacking clear precedent.
•    Drives the use of best practices and delivery in an Agile process that consistently delivers a quality product for the organisation.
•    Drives the use of new or existing data to define key indicators to provide visibility into the quality of the BT group’s data, pipelines, and infrastructure. 
•    Implements complex initiatives and projects, translating objectives into a scalable solution that meets end customers’ needs within deadlines.
•    Mentors other data engineers, helping to improve the team’s abilities by acting as a technical resource.
•    Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in data engineering.

Skills required for the job

•    Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
•    Problem Solving: Ability to problem solve for issues that are broader than the delivered software, e.g.  Integration, interconnection and e2e issues in complex integrated stacks. Resolving production issues to fix service P1-4 issues. Problems relating to introducing new technology, and resolving major issues in the platform and/or service.
•    Software Development Concepts: Understands and experienced with the use of a wide range of programming concepts and is also aware of and has applied a range of algorithms.
•    Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)
•    Commercial & Risk Awareness: Able to understand & evaluate both obvious and subtle commercial risks, especially in relation to a programme. Able to determine the appropriate commercial solutions and responses in highly political and complex situations and ensure that appropriate action is taken.
•    MDM Design : Should have strong experience in defining, MDM design, solutioning Master Data Management projects with Reltio Master Data Management.
•    Technical Skill : Reltio MDM, Java,Python, PySpark, Redshift , NodeJS & AWS Lambda configuration.

Experience you would be expected to have

•    MDM: At least 2 year experience with Reltio & Master Data Management, Experience in leading MDM Design & Development.
•    Should have strong experience in defining, e2e designing, solutioning Master Data Management projects with Reltio Master Data Management.
•    Experience in Cloud (AWS), Redshift / distributed systems & integration with large scale non-relational data stores & GCP BigQuery and data modelling.
•    Understanding the Customer need & come up with requirements and design technical solution to ensure it meets the business requirements.
•    MDM & Reltio Design: Design and executes the technical solution in collaborating with Product Owner, BA, BT Enterprise & GS team and technical team on MDM Integrated solution.
•    Drive Impact assessments and cross functional teams calls to progress and complete solution design.
