We are seeking a passionate Specialist Network Engineer to join the unit. This role will specialise in network engineering working on BT’s core global networks. Candidates will be required to leverage their expertise in Network engineering and use software to transform the way we interact with networks. 

What you’ll be doing

  •  Network Delivery: Support the Implementation of flawless change into the live network.
  •  Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence by actively participating in strategy-setting sessions, aligning project plans and objectives with the organization's strategy and values, and fostering the professional Services culture and enhancing our personal brand. 
  •  Technical Acumen: Demonstrate proficiency in complex technical infrastructure, including IP routing and switching with expertise in Nokia, Cisco, and Juniper with +5  years of experience
  •  Incident Management and Resolution: Be prepared to support a 365x24/7 callout, providing third line technical resolution covering an extensive range of technologies on BT core network platforms.
  •  Customer Focus: Be a technical expert who understands the end-to-end journeys of our BT Products and customers.
  •  Growth and Development: As a technically talented expert you should enhance the brand of the team and support those around you to be accountable and perform at their best. 

Skills you need to succeed

  •  You will be fully conversant and comply with Change Management processes and the supporting governance. 
  •  You will be confident and professional in communicating with all stakeholders, both locally and with members of the Senior Management Team. 
  •  You will have extensive experience of network technologies and protocols within your native domain 
  •  You will have awareness of the E2E service journey  
  •  You will be able to adapt to emerging and evolving technologies, in line with Technology Career Map  
  •  You will have the ability to work in a high-pressured environment

 

Experience you'd be expected to have

  •   Incident response to resolution. 
  •  You've advocated and applied technology where it has not been used previously. 
  •  You've delivered results when the deliverables were unclear. 
  •  You have worked in a high pressured operational environment  
  •  Have a excellent understanding of network fundamentals in a dedicated field of expertise (Such as common network protocols & Vendor hardware; Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, CEINA, Marconi, Fujitsu, etc 
  •  Experience in completing changes in a live network and system environment. 
  •  Self-driven attitude towards learning new skills and aiding the development of others.
