Locations: London, Cheltenham or Ipswich

 

Due to the sensitive nature of this role you will be required to have DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum will be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

In your role as a DevOps Professional, you’ll bring your technical expertise to bear on interesting and challenging problems within Cyber Security. You will solve real-word problems for customers and deliver solutions in an agile manner and ensure we build exactly what they need to time/cost/quality.

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Provide the technical skills for the build and delivery of world class secure platforms.
  • Be hands on in all aspects of the design, build and deployment of customer facing systems.
  • Use automation technologies and drive continuous improvement to improve the unit’s agility and reduce cost.
  • Deploy and maintain monitoring and observability solutions to gain deeper insight into our networks and applications.
  • Work with support teams to enable management and monitoring of on-premises systems, and their ongoing support.
  • Be an independent self-starter capable of managing their own work and supporting your colleagues in your area of expertise.

 

 

What you'll bring:

 

  • Have experience integrating systems or software in on-premises environments.
  • Have experience with DevOps methodologies and knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible or Puppet.
  • Have designed or deployed network or security monitoring tools such as Elasticsearch, Telegraf, InfluxDB or Prometheus.
  • Deliver and prioritise activities, responding positively to challenges, using your technical expertise to support you and those around you.
  • Be a collaborative partner, developing great working relationships with stakeholders, sharing knowledge and collaborating.
  • Have a desire to continually update, enhance and validate your skills.
  •  

 

You may also have:

  • Have experience working in an Agile team.
  • Be comfortable managing your work stack using the Atlassian Suite.
  • Possess a recognised formal qualification demonstrating your technical ability.
  • Have experience with scripting languages like Python, PowerShell or Bash.
  • Have experience working on Production systems in service subject to SLAs.
  • Have experience with container-based deployment strategies.
