Why this job matters

As our Service Performance Data & Infrastructure Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the importation, rationalisation and support of complex and technical BMS data to allow the Service Performance Team to provide reports, analysis and insights to Business Managed Services (BMS), Business and its customers. This is critical to mitigate and support all external Service Level Agreements in accordance with agreed service level targets whilst providing BMS with required business insights to make informed decisions.

 

You will be working with key stakeholders, designers and developers, the reporting infrastructure and new reporting solutions. Through this you will enable the Service Performance Team to optimise and automate their capabilities, allowing the business to transform their capabilities, grow and bring in new services.
 

What you’ll be doing

1. Implementation and management of a robust and expandable BMS reporting/data infrastructure, which aligns to the Business strategy and is accessible to BMS and the Business teams
2. Leading the management and implementation of complex data into BMS reporting Infrastructure and the systems supporting incoming data
3. Leading the migration of data onto GCP, facilitating relevant data layers, transformation, accesses and all relevant actions supporting the move of data and reports from server to GCP
4. Managing data quality and integrity, ensure that the end-to-end process is not changing its meaning. Ensuring pro-active quality and change processes are in place to maintain the integrity of the data universe. Ensure that BT data access policies are known and adhered to
5. Management and development of a reporting solution which allows all BMS service performance Customer Service Reports to be developed, managed and distributed effectively and efficiently within the targeted SLA's

What we would like to see on your CV

1. Expert at Structural Query Language (SQL) with in-depth knowledge to enable code to run effectively and efficiently ensuring the routine is fully optimised.
2. Expert understanding of the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data to ensure that new and existing data is loaded in the database the most optimised way without compromising the data integrity
3. Understanding of GCP data management, data feeds, transformation and access management
4. Leading and maintaining a high technical knowledge around database management and infrastructure management and security, supporting the reporting requirements
5. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo Government Security Clearance to SC level, which requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 5 years

Flexible Working
This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
