The purpose of Mobile Test & Innovations Labs is to design, integrate/build, test, and deliver market-leading converged Mobile and Fixed network services. The success of the function is based upon delivering stable, best in class, converged services using the latest technologies – transforming our network with 5G and Network Function Virtualisation. We are innovators who make future services happen. The Voice Core team support and manage the build, integration, test and operation of multiple Lab environments for developing and testing new services for our customers. 

What you’ll be doing

•    Develop, build and maintain multiple core network Test Environments 
•    Engage with project teams – driving the Design, Build, Test and Delivery of new fixed and mobile services or improvements to existing services.
•    Drive effective incident, change, problem, risk, and vulnerability management. 
•    Drive and maintain alignment of the Test Environments with the live EE network
•    Champion and drive continuous improvement for the service that we offer to our key stakeholders – Test, Design and Operations.
•    Work co-operatively with other business communities and 3rd parties to improve service performance, quality, and customer experience.

Skills and Experience

The skills you’ll need to succeed

  • Technology design - You partner with the business to understand and analyse user requirements and inform the architecture design for software, systems and networks.
  • Product and service knowledge - You demonstrate subject matter expertise in complex, technical infrastructure, products and services. You develop bespoke solutions to meet short, medium and long-term customer needs.
  • Be agile - You identify opportunities to use collaborative approaches and continuous improvement. You contribute to projects as a subject matter expert or content owner.

 

Experience:

Mandatory:

  • Significant track record of mobile telecoms support and/or technology/networking roles
  • Strong knowledge of mobile network protocols including SIP, diameter, SS7, radius and AAA
  • Significant experience of vendors in the mobile stack ie Ericsson and Nokia. Experience with CSCF, MTAS, IPWorks ENUM, SBG and BGF would be highly desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of IP routing protocols.
  • Experience of Openstack, Kubernetes, VMWare and other cloud technologies

Preferred:

  • Experience of OSS tools and systems
  • Experience in using Tracing tools e.g., Wireshark, NetScout
  • Network Function Virtualisation, VMWare stack
  • Demonstrable experience of coding and automation for CI/CD Pipeline
