The Software Engineering Specialist independently executes advanced activities to deliver the engineering strategy and roadmap that supports BT's commercial strategy through cross functional business partnering and the participation of a team that pursues innovation as well as engineering excellence.

BT's strategic network performance reporting platform primarily used in the Networks Operations Center. It processes millions of metrics per minute (scaling to hundreds of millions) to provide insights into network activities. Our dedicated small team handles the end-to-end process of designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting Hydra. They take complete ownership of the application and directly engage with customers for seamless operations.
 

What you’ll be doing

Ideally you would be confident in most of the following technologies:

  • BDD/TDD

  • Go

  • Kafka

  • Ruby on rails

  • Linux command line tools

  • Java

  • Docker/Kubernetes

  • Database management and configuration

  • Developing and maintaining Secure software

We would expect you to have an open mind in terms of technologies and the capacity to try something new and grow to excel in it.
