Location And Working Hours
This role is based in our Birmingham office. You'll need to be able to attend the office at least three times per week, for the duration of 08:30AM to 17:00PM.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) is a key sales channel for BT, contributing £1.7bn revenue and £0.8bn EBIT per year, and serving 1m+ SME customers in the UK. It’s an exciting period of growth for SME, and as we embed our new Enterprise model to achieve that growth, this role will support the delivery of our ambitious transformation plans and goals.
As a Sales Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of sales agents to achieve and exceed their targets. You will manage day-to-day team performance, provide coaching and development, and ensure alignment with business goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to drive consistency in sales execution, and a focus on building a high-performing, motivated team within a dynamic and evolving sales environment.
You will lead one of four sales teams, each consisting of 8 to 15 sales professionals. The team operates in a fast-paced, supportive environment focused on delivering exceptional sales results across BT’s full product portfolio. You'll collaborate with coaches, specialists, and senior leaders to drive performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement and success. You will play a key role in shaping a dynamic and evolving team culture, with strong support and resources to help you succeed.
What you’ll be doing
• Lead and motivate a team of sales agents to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Drive consistent performance through coaching, training, and development of team members.
• Manage day-to-day team operations, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
• Foster a positive and dynamic team culture focused on success and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to align sales strategies and goals.
• Utilize data and CRM tools to analyse team performance and implement actionable improvements.
• Handle difficult conversations and manage team challenges with firmness and fairness.
• Oversee recruitment and onboarding of new team members, shaping the team’s growth and capabilities.
Experience Required
• Can demonstrate strong track record of sales success
• Proven successful experience in leading and managing teams.
• People leadership skills, including coaching and driving team performance.
• Ability to communicate and manage up & down effectively (team members & stakeholders).
• Ability to handle difficult conversations and maintain team motivation.
• Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, and data analysis to inform decisions.
• Preferrably familiar with fixed and mobile portfolios.
• Preferrably familiar with selling into the public sector and sub 100 employee level.
