The focus is on managing the migration of our business customers to new services, ensuring that relevant timescales are followed with minimal disruption and retaining customers during the process. This migration is the largest, and most important customer focused change in our market, for us and our customers in the last 15 years.
This requires an expanded migration programme to plan and execute sufficient migration activity across all our customer segments to achieve the optimum commercial and customer outcomes, on time.
What you’ll be doing
- Accountable for leading the delivery of project(s), programme or portfolio that are large, complex and represent significant benefit/risk to our customer, which will be highly visible and recognisable.
- Responsible for ensuring that all business customers who have non-IP products and services are migrated before the closure date of the network stop serve date.
- Responsible for managing migration projects end to end, from customer engagement through to cease off the network
- Production of project plans, co-ordinating the work of sales engagement teams, propositions, commercial, product management, legal, regulatory, public affairs, capability and other subject matter experts.
- Accountable for building complex matrix delivery organisation consisting of a mixture of dedicated and shared resources including Project Management, other internal specialists and external third parties.
- Act as a customer champion – establish customer needs, uses operational and technical expertise to deliver brilliant experiences by resolving customer issues, delivery quality and timeliness.
- Tasked with identifying and managing changes in scope – ensuring the appropriate governance is applied.
- Accountable for building a comprehensive governance structure, taking responsibility for leading the development of the appropriate plans and controls to ensure successful delivery.
- Accountable for ensuring that defined methodologies, processes and tools are consistently applied across the projects in scope, in-line with the overall standards set by the PMO.
- Manages project risk for BT and customers with an ability to use and adapt recognised project management methods and processes depending on elements of the risk profile and governance needs.
- Provide direction to the team on requirements, scope, timescale, cost constraints and quality expectations.
Experience/Skills needed to be successful in the role
- Highly developed Project Management skills – experience as Project Manager, delivering complex solutions across a broad range of IT and network technology, ideally from a range of industry sectors.
- Stakeholder management – Proven history of engaging and influencing a wide variety of stakeholders both externally (IT Manager, Programme Manager) and internally at the highest level (C suite/Director Level). Ability to lead discussions with a wide variety of stakeholders to facilitate programme discussions
- Risk Management – takes ownerships and mitigates issues and risks. Strong leadership skills in giving direction and making the correct call using data to evidence decision making and mitigate programme risks
- Financial Management – financial tracking and management of large programmes
- Communication skills – strong communicator of plans and delivery information with strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical skills to gain commitment from business audiences
- Highly analytical and structured, with ability to manage complexity with a high degree of personal resilience.
- Expected to have attained an advanced project management qualification – Prince 2 Practitioner, MSP, APM RPP etc
