Location: Birmimgham is the contractual sales hub location for the role, however this is a field role and therefore the majority of the role holders time will be spent with the local business in the Milton Keynes area, and with customers in the wider home counties patch.

Why this job matters

 

The contractual location of this role is our sales hub Snow Hill office in Birmingham, however this is a field role, and therefore the majority of your time will be spent working with a specified partner and the customers within their defined patch. In this case, the partners office location is Bedford, and the role covers end customers in our Home Counties region. You will need to be a commutable distance from this location. 


The purpose of this role is to address the market opportunity for our complex Data portfolio (Internet access and data networking) within a defined territory, to grow market share and customer revenues, by providing specialist technical knowledge to grow existing customer spend into future revenue streams and acquire new business. You will meed to understand customer needs whilst aligning to BT and Channel Strategy to move to new IP products (Broadband, BTnet &,SDWAN etc) for our SME customers and BTLB partners. 

You will be responsible for working alongside BT Local Businesses to coach and create, develop and close sales through sustained prospecting and activity (Third Party Sales Management capabilities). You will also be an advocate for BT Sales methodology to build rapport and establish long lasting relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor. 

In addition, Specialists are responsible for driving Acquisition sales to support market share growth.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Achieves 100% or more of product set target aligned to territory using Sales methodology & sales plans.
  • You lead the review, analysis and interpretation of sales trends across their applicable product pillars for ensuring the delivery of sales and commercial KPIs. You set up and implement the commercial levers that will drive and optimise these KPIs to maximise sales performance and take corrective actions.
  • Maintain a high awareness and knowledge of the SME market, including industry, competitors and telecoms and internal activities (and guide others to do the same) to ensure that all business opportunities are identified, considered and implemented appropriately contributing to the wider Field Sales Strategy.
  • Sales management & coaching capability with regards to multiple complex stakeholder management skills. Including:-
    • Customer – inc C-level, varying customer size,
    • BTLB – MD’s, sales teams, field sales, desk opps
    • BT – PSM, Specialist peers, Trading, Commercial, 
    • Customer Service & Order Management, Propositions, Product, Marketing.
    • Technical knowledge on specific products & services relating to internet access and data networking
  • Be an exemplar for BT system usage and drive the right behaviours of SF.com usage within BTLBs

Flexible Working

 

BT have moved to a hybrid working model - you can work from home 2 days per week. This means you’ll be at your contractual location/in the field 3 days a week.
