About this role

Located within BT’s Colleague Services unit, this is an exciting new platform and customer support role in which you'll join a high-profile team of skilled professionals working together to deliver Identity and Access related services to the whole of BT. The platform you’ll support integrates directly with our HR functions and ensures that new joiners have the access and equipment they need when they join, as well as facilitating the requesting, approval and provisioning of role-specific access for over a hundred thousand employees in every part of the company. We also help keep BT safe by ensuring access rights are revalidated periodically and removed when an employee leaves.

 

You'll have the following responsibilities

Traditional application support activities such as:

  • Deployment of regular software updates
  • Platform monitoring and administration
  • Vulnerability management and other security practices
  • Leading technical incident investigation and resolution
  • On-call support rota duties
  •  

And the nature of this role offers other development opportunities:

 

  • Operation of procedures to ensure BT meets its regulatory obligations for audit
  • Liaising with applications throughout BT as you onboard and administer their identity data, learning about the company as you go
  • Trouble-shooting issues for our front-line colleagues so that they have access to the systems they need, when they need it
  • Advising on the future strategy, design and implementation of solutions in the Identity space

 

You'll have the following skills & experience

Ideally you will come from a technical background and have some of the following skills:

  • Broad technical skills in datacentre technologies and tools, including Oracle Linux and Microsoft Windows server 
  • Experience of LDAP
  • Ideally from a Devops background
  • Scripting with at least one language eg, Perl, Python, Bash and Powershell
  • Very good interpersonal and customer management skills 
  • Some understanding of IT standards, e.g  ITIL framework and General IT Controls 
  • Microsoft productivity and communication tools, such as Excel and Teams
