This role can be based at Birmingham or Manchester with 3 days per week in the office and 2 wherever.

Why this job matters 
As a Product Manager, you'll define and orchestrate the creation of new products, propositions, and services for our BT colleagues. You'll wield a substantial degree of autonomy while skilfully balancing a user-centric approach, ensuring consistency in the exceptional digital experiences you create.


Your role will require expertise in Agile methodologies, a keen grasp of cross-disciplinary dynamics and proficiency in User Research, Product Strategy & Content Design. You'll also bring experience in working with off-the-shelf and third-party products (e.g. Success Factors, JIRA), applying best practices, evidence-based insights, data-driven strategies, and research to continually elevate our experiences and product decisions.


You will work to foster a culture of high performance and cross-functional collaboration. You'll collaborate closely with Business Analysts, User Researchers, Product Designers, Technical Architects, Service Designers, Engineers, and stakeholders to shape the future of BT.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Solve complex problems and create user-friendly solutions
  • Create prototypes and wireframes to visualize and test product concepts
  • Create, maintain and regularly iterate a roadmap and backlog for your team
  • Prioritise activities for your team based upon achieving validated learning as quickly as possible and maximising value
  • Communicate clearly, transparently and concisely with stakeholders and tell your team’s story. 
  • Have a collaborative way of working, within, and across teams, breaking down any barriers to move relationships forward 
  • Be responsible for the product performance of your team and be expected to assure it
  • Conduct usability tests to gather user feedback and refine products accordingly
  • Build reports and deliver meaningful insights from Adobe Analytics and other analytics packages
  • Experiment and find opportunities for growth by thinking big and going beyond the day-to-day

 

The skills and experience you’ll need to succeed

  • Significant experience of working as Product Manager (or in similar roles)
  • Proficiency in software and tools such as JIRA, Trello, Confluence, Adobe Creative Suite, etc
  • Demonstrable product management knowledge including product development processes, product lifecycle management and product thinking
  • Experience sustainably scaling products and defining Go To Market strategies
  • Leading and collaborating with cross-functional product teams
  • A product mindset and an ability to think strategically
  • Experience and understanding of Agile principles, practices and methodologies
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with a knack for simplifying complexity
  • Proven capability in defining and executing product strategies that align with business goals 
  • The ability to continuously enhance the customer experience across the product lifecycle
  • Proficient in employing product discovery techniques, ideating, prototyping, conducting user research, and facilitating experiments to validate assumptions, inform decision-making, and drive continuous product improvement
  • Effective management of relationships with internal and external stakeholders
