About this role

 

You’ll be responsible for monitoring, ,maintaining, supporting and ensuring the availability and security of one of BT’s largest single environments. Citrix platforms are used by thousands of people across BT in many contries around the world. The Citrix platforms are available 24/7 and so require 24/7 support which is managed by a regular office hours shift as well as some out of hours and on call responsibilities as required.  You’ll work in a team of Citrix engineers in both operations and delivery ensuring we have the best performing platform at all times.

Citrix platforms are key to our business in BT. They are used across many areas ranging from EE retail stores, to Call Centres through to software engineers off shore

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure the availability of our Citrix platforms
  • Day to day monitoring of Citrix platforms
  • Incident Handling
  • Change Management/deployment on live production environments
  • Problem Management
  • Interacting with end users and members of other technical teams involved in the provision of our platforms
  • Ensuring our environment are kept secure a free of vulnerabilities.
  • System monitoring
  • Continuous improvement inc upgrades/updates to systems
  • Patching
  • Maintenance of operational processes

 

Skills and Experience

 

 

  • Citrix administration is preffered
  • Administration of Windows operating system is mandatory
  • Knowledge of Active directory is preferred
  • Knowledge of Powershell is preferred 
  • Use Data Analytics: You use your knowledge of data and its presentation to help colleagues make decisions. You deliver initiatives that improve data analytics in our business.
  • Be Tech Savvy : You develop and contribute to knowledge of new technologies, how they're used in our business and in others.
  • Be Agile : You use your knowledge of best practice to collaborate with peers across the business in different ways.
  • Give Specialised Advise : You offer advice and recommendations based on your expertise both proactively and on request.
  • Communication: Ability to talk to end users at their level of knowledge and understanding
