Why this job matters
As a Financial Reporting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing Contract Accountant support across a range of contracts within the Devolved Nations area of the UK S&C Public Sector business. Acting as a key business partner to operational sales teams and the Devolved Nations Senior Finance Manager, you will drive performance through insightful financial analysis, robust reporting, and strong commercial challenge. You will oversee financial control, forecasting, and budgeting for these contracts, ensuring accurate reporting, revenue assurance, and effective performance tracking while influencing both tactical and strategic decision-making across the business.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide end-to-end financial control and oversight on major contracts in the Devolved Nations.
- Partner closely with the Senior Finance Manager, Sales Directors, and their teams to align financial performance with strategic and operational goals.
- Produce monthly reporting packs for Devolved Nations contracts, including CGRs and operational reviews, with clear, insightful commentary.
- Develop, own, and continuously refine detailed forecasts, outlooks, and budgets, incorporating WIP, new deals, churn, and customer insights.
- Review performance versus bid, ensuring robust commercial and accounting controls (accruals, revenue recognition, balance sheet, and P&L) across contracts.
The skills you'll need
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis and contract accounting within a complex business environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and challenge constructively.
- Excellent analytical, forecasting and budgeting skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insight.
