This team works in the office three days per week, on Monday/Wednesday/Thursday.

Why this job matters

As an Account Manager you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of customers through proactive account management and acquisition activity—landscaping accounts, identifying white‑space opportunities, handling customer enquiries, and creating qualified appointments for field colleagues. You will work closely with field-based sales and internal teams, share targets and performance, and coordinate service and commercial activity to drive revenue growth and high customer satisfaction, with a primarily desk-based role and occasional joint customer visits.

What you’ll be doing

•    Delivering against revenue and margin targets either on your own, or as part of virtual sales team within a customer base of private sector customers. 
•    Outbound sales prospecting and opportunities, regular and consistent calling of customers and promotion of BT products and services.
•    Work closely with field sales and specialist teams to deliver opportunities for core BT product lines
•    Proactively manage churn risk for core BT products
•    Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular account reviews, proactive communication and service
•    Identify white-space and upsell/cross-sell opportunities; qualify leads and book appointments for field-based colleagues
•    Accurately forecast business KPIs to management teams
•    Responsible for closing own contracts, as well as engaging with others/specialists to deliver customer requirements as necessary e.g. Field Account Management team, Contract Management team for managed accounts
•    Acts as the desk-based point of contact for the customer/partner developing long term customer relationships

Experience Required

•    Proven experience in account management and can demonstrate track record of meeting or exceeding targets in a target-driven environment 
•    Experience managing a portfolio of customers: conducting account reviews, identifying white space, and generating qualified opportunities
•    Consultative selling skills as well as ability to create appointments and hand over effectively to field teams
•    Able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and confident engaging customers face to face, by phone and virtually
•    Organised, able to prioritise competing tasks and handle both revenue generating and non revenue administrative work
•    Telecoms/IT sector experience is desirable but not essential
