The Data Engineering Professional play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring efficient data processing, and contributing to our organization's data-driven success. They support turning business needs into the data that supports the BT Group's data strategies and strategic decision making. They collaborate with different external and internal teams to bring value to cross functional data sitting in silos on a unified platform for use of data analytics and data science professionals.

What you’ll be doing

1. Data Pipeline Development: 
Assemble large, complex datasets that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements. 
Design and implement internal process improvements, optimizing data delivery, scalability, and automation. 
Build infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies. 


2. Analytics and Insights: 
Develop analytical tools that utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insights into key business performance metrics (e.g., operational efficiency, customer acquisition). 
Collaborate with stakeholders (data, design, product, and executive teams) to address data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. 
 

3. Cloud Expertise: 
Leverage your experience with cloud-based data technologies, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 
Work with distributed systems using tools like Apache Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka. 
Implement on-premise and cloud-based data engineering solutions. 

What is required

Minimum qualifications:
•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Computer Science or related field.
•    4-8 years of experience with development of scalable and robust data pipeline on on-Prem and Cloud platform with any programming language(Python/Java/Scala) and SQL .
•    3+ Years of experience in any public cloud data services(GCP/Azure/Aws). Ex: dataflow, Dataproc, Big Query, Azure data factory, Streaming services, data visualization.
•    3+ years of experience in data modelling, Data Quality, MPP database design.
•    3+ years of exp in big data technologies- spark, Apache beam, Kafka, Hadoop framework.
•    Experience with source control tools such as Git, SVN, or TFS. 
•    Working experience in Infrastructure as a Service- Terraform/Ansible.

Preferred qualifications:
•    Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
•    Working experience in Machine learning algorithm design and cloud AI services.
•    Working experience in Reporting and data analytics tools.
•    Proficient in managing internal/external stakeholders and excellent business communication skill.
