What you’ll be doing

  • This is an opportunity for a highly energetic individual to drive innovation in Software Defined Network (SDN) related technologies for delivering production Network Function Virtualization (NFV) services within BT.
  • You will be responsible for supporting next generation NFV service delivery platform based on cutting edge NFV, SDN technologies, cloud virtualization technologies, and cloud computing technologies that are revolutionizing telecom industries. 
  • You will also have solid background in driving good practice around process – specifically Fault, Change and Configuration Management.
  • You will be an excellent team player, comfortable collaborating with both local and remote team members. You will be customer focussed – setting high standards and driving good practice across the team.

You will have technical skills and experience to provide 1st and 2nd line support in the following areas. 

  • Dell PowerEdge/HP ProLiant
  • Kubernetes
  • Ansible
  • Windows Server Administration and deployment 2016/2019 & Linux – Oracle Linux /Ubuntu/SUSE/Redhat
  • Active Directory/WSUS/DNS/App-V
  • Citrix XenApp
  • Virtualization – VMWARE ESXI 6.7 and 7.0, Vcenter 6.7, 7.0, vSAN Storage, VCD
  • SDDC
  • Vrealise Automation/VROPS
  • Vcenter 6.5 , 6.7 and 7
  • Experience working with traditional operations teams and integrating them into a DevOps culture
  • Able to build great relationships both inside and outside the teams, leveraging those relationships to ensure the smooth flow of the right information.
  • Able to make decisions in ambiguous situations using incomplete information or differing opinions.
  • Has broad knowledge of industry tools and practices including agile methodologies and DevOps engineering approaches.
