This role works closely across the People & Culture function, the Culture, Performance & Talent team and key senior stakeholders across BT to understand the people leadership capability requirements of the organisation, driving alignment and buy-in for learning and development products and interventions. 

You will manage others and will be a part of a wider team that champions customer centricity and agility, driving strategically aligned leadership & talent development products that are capacity and budget conscious.

What you'll be doing

 

  • Works closely across the People & Culture function, the Culture, Performance & Talent team and key senior stakeholders across BT to understand the people leadership capability requirements of the organisation, driving alignment and buy-in for learning and development products and interventions.
  • Acts as product owner for, defining the products and interventions that build people leadership capabilities and competencies, aligned to Business priorities, looking holistically across career levels, brands, geography, personas and professions.
  • Leverages expertise in behavioural and capability development, alongside deep insights into current theory, best practices, and research, to design and deliver impactful learning products that drive performance and create meaningful shifts in capability.
  • Champions value for the end-customer by driving the design, development, deployment, management and ongoing maintenance of people leadership development products and interventions, leading a delivery squad of Learning specialists and/or professionals throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Is responsible for the squad vision, setting OKR’s, defining and prioritising requirements in squad’s backlog, backlog management and day-to-day priorities, and approving items as completed. Reviews and accepts completed work, ensuring it meets defined criteria and quality standards. 
  • Ensures that squad team members are allocated strategically and in line with the portfolio prioritisation for each quarter, ensuring value flow from existing products.
  • Recommends sourcing strategy and works collaboratively with our managed service to shape our supplier portfolio and catalogue, maximising value through simplification.
  • Owns the People Leadership Development portfolio across BT Group, ensuring coherence and consistency of learning ‘products’ within their portfolio and the broader People & Culture function, aligning with the BT Group’s goals and strategic workforce plans, and overall quality assurance.
  • Defines the change and adoption strategy as part of the design, drives and oversees effective communication to build awareness and adoption of the leadership & talent development products.
  • Brings commercial focus, assessing cost and value drivers, developing cost-effective solutions; manages product delivery in budget and reviewing return on investment.
  • Develops and measures key metrics to track product performance, overseeing the roll-out of objectives and key results (OKRs), escalating when there are risks to timely delivery and / or business value.  
  • Identifies and leverages internal data and analytics and external best practice and insights to support innovative product design and development of deliverables. 

Skills and Experience You’ll Need: 

  • Expertise in building Leadership capability at all levels and influencing all levers across the colleague life cycle to build sustained performance and capability beyond learning.
  • Adept at leveraging external research, insights and trends to develop colleague centric, innovative learning interventions that are deeply connected to the business strategy and context.
  • Strategically defining capability gaps and translating them into actionable, relevant interventions that positively impact performance with clear, measurable ROI.
  • Sound experience with behavioural science and behavioural change management, including psychometric assessment, and translating that into practical interventions.
  • Experience operating in and leading Agile Squads, and collaborating in a matrix environment.
  • Track record of building strong, credible relationships with senior stakeholders and successful at influencing and gaining buy in.
  • Commercially astute and able to speak the language of the Business and ability to use deep business knowledge to inform decision-making.
  • Leverages internal data and analytics and external best practice and insights to support innovative product design and development of deliverables.
