You will provide Governance and drive a standardised PM methodology across the All-IP Building closures and programmes to ensure the requisite projects are delivered on time in accordance with the central PMO standards.
What you’ll be doing
- Accountable for supporting the delivery of customer facing and internal facing projects that will have a high degree of visibility both internally and externally.
- Supporting the PM with the management of network and exchange closures where we will be migrating customers from closing exchanges to enduring exchanges.
- Ensure projects and programmes adhere to established frameworks, processes and standards set by the IP Migrations Portfolio PMO.
- Ensure Standardized Project Documentation Compliance across All-IP Building Closures and 2G Programmes and any new initiatives as directed by PMO Manager.
- Ensure programme risk identification, reporting, escalation and mitigation across all active projects
- Conduct assurance reviews with new Building Closures and 2G PMs/workstream leads to review compliance with life cycle processes, project documentation, reporting standards, project controls (risk, issue, change control) etc.
- Contribute to demand and capacity planning across All-IP Building Closures and 2G Programmes liaising with the All-IP Migrations PMO Capacity Planning Lead
- Oversee Programme-level reporting with inputs from individual sub-projects
- Lead on designing and implementing PMO services, to add value and control Programme Delivery
- Lead Programme level governance sessions and designing and assuring Programme level controls
- Manages and creates visibility around the holistic programme health and reporting, tracking and reducing delivery risk.Continuously improve PMO services to streamline and ensure improvements are embedded
- Setting up a programme of regular review and evolution of internal controls
- Identifying and mitigating project vs. program level risks, managing the resolution of issues in liaison with the All-IP Migrations PMO Risk Lead
Experience/Skills needed to be successful in the role:
- Highly developed PMO skills – significant experience working in PMOs, designing and rolling out services, supporting large programmes (ideally delivering a range of IT and network technology)
- Project management skills – strong knowledge and experience of formal project management methodologies, project planning and project financial and resource management
- Stakeholder management – Proven history of engaging and influencing a wide variety of stakeholders both externally (IT Manager, Programme Manager) and internally at the highest level (C suite/Director Level). Ability to lead discussions with a wide variety of stakeholders to facilitate programme discussions
- Risk Management – Strong understanding of risk management governance, controls and assessment approaches in complex/fast paced programme environments
- Communication skills – excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and communicate at all levels of the organisation
- Reporting – demonstrable experience in the creation of accurate and timely management information/dashboards to support decision making
- Delivery Minded – understanding that governance and oversight should enable, not obstruct, the execution of change with the willingness and ability to challenge and coach project managers on information consistency, quality and standards.
- Experience working in consulting and/or similar sized telecoms organisations would be ideal
