The BT group operates a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week. 

The Scope

The Developer Relations Manager (API Integration Manager/ API Product Manager) will play a pivotal role in shaping how customers experience and adopt BT Wholesale API products.


Acting as the voice of the customer and a trusted technical advisor, they will ensure our APIs are truly valuable and fit for purpose to our customers. They will directly influence product design, drive adoption, and deliver customer satisfaction.


This role is expected to drive the strategic vision of APIs within Wholesale to drive commercial value and differentiation vs competitors.

What you’ll be doing

  • Driving the long-term vision of APIs across Wholesale to improve customer experience, value and market differentiation.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with external customers, driving adoption of BT Wholesale’s APIs.
  • Managing the end-to-end API onboarding process, including customer in-life support and change management.
  • Continuously making improvements to the BT API Developer Portal by updating tutorials, documentation, and onboarding content.
  • Collaborating with product, engineering and architecture teams to communicate updates and roadmap changes.
  • Providing expert guidance on API capabilities and implementation best practices.

Experience needed to be successful in the role

  • Stakeholder Management: Champion customer needs internally and promote API capabilities externally.
  • API Expertise: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with API standards (e.g REST, SOAP, Pub/Sub (Kafka)). Ideally coming from time spent in technical roles.
  • Technical Communication: Clearly explain API concepts and integration processes to varied audiences with proven experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, or technical community management. 
  • Content Creation: Develop tutorials, documentation, and technical content to support customer onboarding.
  • Troubleshooting & Analysis: Use tools like Dynatrace and Apigee to monitor API performance and resolve issues.
