About The Role:

 

This is a hybrid role based in BT's Ipswich office.

 

We’re looking for someone with strong data analysis skills to own the benefits for our Operational Excellence programme. It’s a really important role and if successful you’d be part of a wide and varied team, and central to one of the biggest transformations within BT for years. You’ll have experience of building and owning business cases and understand the various mechanisms of benefit delivery (cost, efficiency etc) and how to measure them effectively. You’ll be the gatekeeper for the measure of success of our deliveries and be responsible for reporting that regularly. If you have equivalent experience, maybe as a project manager or within finance (only examples) then we’d still like to hear from you – it’s about finding the right person.

 

For context the role would be part of the Technology Operational Excellence Tribe, which is driving the Service and Operations strategy for both Technology and encompassing the CFUs.

 

Your responsobilities will include the following:

 

  • Managing the interface between programme, Squads and Senior Managers to secure the delivery of programme outcomes and realisation of benefits. Regularly meeting with all stakeholders to discuss the Programme, Project, Squad benefit plans and to ensure any additional change enabling requirements, as defined by the Squads, are clearly articulated and agreed.
  • Reporting any potential risks to delivery of benefits and provide on-going monitoring to demonstrate whether intended benefits have been realised and sustained after each Sprint, Delivery, Phase.
  • Responsible for the development of the automated/real-time Benefits Report.
  • Provide an assurance role to the organisation that benefits are fully mapped and aligned to the business requirement, validated and approved
  • Integrates and implements end-to-end solutions across customers and business areas. Integrates and implements end-to-end solutions across customers and business areas.
  • Executes technical roadmap for specific area or domain.
  • Provides recommendation on development budget for the next year by understanding/explaining the technology evolution of the product/system/process etc.
  • Leads on change practice domain and sets the direction.
  • Creates and owns the change programme for Operational Excellence with a major focus on ServiceNow.
  • Delivers and implements discrete technical and non-technical solutions, including scoping, testing, delivery to live, on time and budget autonomously.
  • Monitors technical and non-technical solutions to ensure alignment between business need and scope of delivery, managing any changes raised during the project and manages interdependencies that arise during delivery.
  • Liaises with customers, suppliers and peers to update on progress and resolve issues, managing impacts on components integral to delivery of scope.
  • Provides technical and non-technical expertise to ensure solution integrity and quality of third party inputs.
  • Identifies improvements to process and service to improve delivery of benefits for customers.

 

You should the bring the following experience & skills:

 

  • You should have Data analysis skills (Oracle, Excel, Equivalent) – need to be able to work with numbers
  • Significant experience of working in a similar role and level within a benefits background or equivalent along with the experience in delivery of large scale programme benefits.
  • Atention to detail – need to have an eye for the specifics
  • Managing of benefits realisation (and associated risks) across complex, multi-faceted programmes 
  • Benefits reporting - including evidencing these are underpinned / delivered
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills (including senior level)
  • Experience of major projects / business case build
  • Owned and developed business cases throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Ideally have experience of managing finance / working with the finance team / systems
  • Demonstrable experience in making decisions in ambiguous situations using incomplete information or differing opinions (e.g. divided team loyalties or unclear deliverables). 
  • Actively participated in strategy setting sessions 
  • Been a spokesperson for others on issues of integrity 
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in complex, technical infrastructure, products and services. You develop bespoke solutions to meet short, medium and long-term customer needs.
