BT Business is at the forefront of delivering large-scale, multi-year contracts to government departments. Our Secure Engineering team, Digital, is responsible for the development, connectivity, and maintenance of multiple Service Management Platforms, recovering revenue of over £400m per annum.

As a Compliance Professional, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring comprehensive governance of our secure platforms. Your efforts will maintain the health of these platforms while meeting all necessary security accreditations in line with contract-specific and internal BT policies. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and business stakeholders, you will ensure that security remains our top priority in delivering exceptional service to our customers.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Policy Development and Implementation: Develop and implement ITIL policies to ensure effective IT service management and governance.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage risks associated with IT services and processes.
  • Data Analysis: Gather and analyze data to forecast workload and staffing needs.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and report on the performance of IT services and governance frameworks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in IT service management and governance practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, including senior management, IT teams, and business units, to ensure alignment of IT services with business objectives.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs to ensure adherence to ITIL policies.
  • Audit and Review: Conduct regular audits and reviews of ITIL processes and governance frameworks to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

 

Skills and Experience You'll Need to Succeed

  • Experience: Proven expertise in capacity planning and management, BCM governance, and ISO27001 compliance.
  • Certifications: Demonstrated experience with ITIL best practices for IT service management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with tools and platforms such as VMware vSphere, AWS, and other cloud services. Advanced user of Microsoft Excel with a track record in analyzing data to forecast capacity needs and trends.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with experience in presenting capacity reports and collaborating with stakeholders. Adept at working with various departments and external partners to ensure capacity aligns with business needs.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and work across multiple teams in large organisations.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Security clearance, ISO27001 2022 knowledge, ITIL principles, basic technical IT acumen, and knowledge of licence management.
