Why this role matters

The Procurement Manager is responsible for helping to drive and deliver the procurement strategy in Voice & Core Networks Category, including overall creation of sourcing strategies, execution of sourcing activities, establishing strong collaborative partnerships and driving procurement best practice continuously.

The role holder will develop and implement sourcing strategies, tender execution and contracting under procurement framework, policies and procedures. This role holds strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement comptency and continuous value delivery.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the deliver of sourcing activities against cross team category plans.
  • Feed into the build and maintenance of cross team category expertise, applying best practices around sourcing approach, supplier selection, total cost of ownership and negotiation tactics.
  • Identify business improvements leveraging the commercial, design and process to minimise the total cost of ownership.
  • Collaborate with business unit teams to execute and deliver category plans and sourcing activities against key metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the business objectives and key transformational programmes.
  • Drive and deliver end-to-end sourcing projects including complex contractual and pricing models.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements.
  • Work within a team matrix of procurement / sourcing professionals to deliver brilliant outcomes for BT and our customers.

The skills you'll need

  • Experience within a procurement function, with strong sourcing/procurement skills.
  • Strong business expertise in relevant category, particularly around supplier capabilities, commercial models, product lifecycles required to deliver customer requirements.
  • Demonstrates a track record of decision making capability and deliver against key metrics.
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to influence decision making with senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to manage complex, strategic and commercial requirements between BT and suppliers.
