Why this job matters
This role is key to delivering the DCP contract, ensuring reliable and secure network services that support critical blue light operations across Devon & Cornwall, and Dorset. As part of the Data Networks team, you’ll provide expert technical support for the LAN and WAN infrastructure, resolving complex incidents and maintaining service availability. Your work directly enables the customer’s mission-critical communication systems, making a real impact on public safety and operational effectiveness.
Please note you must either hold or be eligible for SC (Security Clearance) & NPPV 3 Clearance for this role, which will require a minimum of 5 years working history in the UK to be eligible.
What you’ll be doing

Delivering successful technical resolutions to complex network issues escalated from second line, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Planning and implementing complex network changes with first-time delivery to maintain stable and secure services across a wide range of products and solutions.

Managing workload effectively to meet key performance indicators while ensuring ISO20k compliance and alignment with contractual obligations.

Production of Dorset and DCP month end reporting to confirm SLA performance, analysis of report set and development of trending data to support or identify improvements and or underlying issues as required.

Supporting lifecycle management, security vulnerability remediation, and production of performance reporting to identify trends and drive service excellence.

Broad technical knowledge across areas such as Cisco networking, network security, wireless technologies, and relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA or working towards).

Ability to communicate technical information clearly and build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders and teams.

Experience planning and delivering work under pressure while maintaining integrity, accountability, and collaboration.

Understanding of ITIL principles, process management, and continuous improvement within an SLA-driven environment.

This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
