Why this job matters

Our Field Team ensures the End User Workplace services to the users are delivered. With physical visits the team resolves, maintains, supports and changes the end user devices. These devices cover, desktop computers, Laptops, IT telephony and IT peripherals. The team ensure access to the customer’s infrastructure hosting the IT systems via these end user devices.

 

As our Field Technical Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for the investigation and resolution of end user device related incidents, performing to the required job standard and deliver in accordance to the agreed goals within the SLA driven environment, accurately recording your effort of these activities.

 

Please note - This role is Exeter based as the main office but the role will cover the whole of Devon and Cornwall. Applicants between Exeter, Launceston & Plymouth will be considered.

What you'll be doing?

1. Delivering successful technical resolutions to end user devices escalated by first line/second line that require physical presence
2. Utilise experience and evolving technical ability to restore normal service to users in line with Service definitions and SLA’s
3. 3rd party hardware warranty management and repair
4. Proactively owning scheduled workload as well as reactively managing multiple tasks as escalated by the team to meet key performance indicators
5. Delivering an effective and innovative service that is ISO2Ok compliant which meets BT’s contractual obligations and the needs of the customer

1. Strong customer focus and drive to provide proactive, pre-emptive, and best in class service with strong self-management abilities
2. Problem solving and decision making
3. Competent Windows Operating System & application installation skills
4. Active Directory, Group Policy troubleshooting, Client-Side networking & MS Endpoint\SCCM deployment experience
5. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo or already hold NPPV 3 which ideally requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 3 years or British Citizenship

Flexible Working
This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
