Why this job matters

Our new Customer Experience (CX) function has big ambitions to put the customer at the heart of everything we do. To achieve this, we need to measure and understand our end-to-end customer journeys through robust, scalable data models.

In this role, you will be responsible for using data as a strategic asset to improve customer experience and optimise operations. This role is critical in applying data science techniques—such as machine learning and AI—to unlock value from complex datasets, enabling smarter decisions and supporting BT’s transformation into a data-driven organisation

What you’ll be doing

  • Generate Business Insights: Support the creation of actionable insights from large, complex datasets and communicate findings to stakeholders with CX and across Business
  • Data Extraction & Analysis: Assist in extracting, cleaning, and interpreting data to inform recommendations and decision-making.
  • Develop Visualisations: Create clear, impactful dashboards and visualisations to make advanced analytics accessible to a broad audience.
  • Apply Advanced Techniques: Utilise machine learning and AI algorithms for a range of areas including predictive modelling, clustering, Sentiment & Text analysis, Root Cause Analysis
  • Deliver Data Science Projects: Contribute to multiple projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Improve Processes: Support continuous improvement initiatives within the CX Data & Insight team to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation and modelling.
  • Experience with SQL for querying large datasets (BigQuery)
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Ability to create compelling data visualizations using tools like Qlik, Tableau, or similar.
  • Understanding of data governance, quality, and compliance principles.
  • Excellent communication skills to present insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions to understand requirements and deliver actionable insights.
