Job Title: Technical Specialist

Location: Hemel Hempstead

 

 

Due to the sensitive nature of this role you will be required to have DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum will be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

What you’ll do: 

 

  • Provide the technical direction for the build, delivery and maintenance of world class secure platforms.
  • Be hands-on in all aspects of the design, build, deployment and support of customer facing systems.
  • Employ and adapt industry-leading techniques and best practices to suit customer challenges.
  • Work within existing monitoring, observability and security frameworks to achieve our customer’s requirements.

 

 

What you'll bring:

 

  • Have experience integrating systems, networks or software in on-premises environments, with deep expertise in one or more of the following:
    • Server hardware specification & deployment
    • Hypervisor technology design, deployment & upgrade
    • Windows and Linux OS deployment, configuration, upgrade and migration
    • Implementation of hardened build standards and use of scanning tools
    • Database deployment, upgrade and migration
    • PKI infrastructure design, build and deployment
    • 3rd party application implementation and upgrades
    • IP Networking
  • Contribute to a high-performance culture, empowering others through coaching and development using modern software development methodologies.
  • Deliver, coordinate and prioritise activities, responding positively to challenges, using your technical expertise to support you and those around you.

 

 

You may also:

 

  • Be experienced in providing 3rd line support to production environments
  • Have experience writing design documents, build guides and operation procedures, sharing knowledge and enabling 1st and 2nd line support teams to operate independently
  • Be passionate about automation, striving to identify where complex and repetitive tasks can be simplified, improving overall team velocity
