Why this job matters
As Finance Specialist you will be responsible for:
The monthly management reporting to the UK, budgeting and forecasting for the Regional Enterprise business and be able to explain variances against prior periods, budget and latest forecasts. Furthermore you will have oversight and management responsibilities to ensure the financials are in accordance with group and statutory accounting principles (IFRS and country/local statutory accounting principles) and responsible for tax and regulatory compliance within the region.
Establishing and maintaining internal controls to achieve the objectives of effective and efficient operations, reliable financial reporting, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Consistently applying the internal control standards to asses and meet our internal control objectives.
What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities
- Analyse Balance Sheet performance and driving optimisations
- Balance Sheet review and sign-offs
- FCM reviewer and sign-off
- Preparation of annual, consolidated statutory accounts;
- Annually reviewing the CIT returns (in liaison with Deloitte E&Y and Tax manager);
- Conduct/coordinate annual tax related sample testing;
- Maintaining, testing and updating the NL tax control framework;
- Responsible for operating and sign-off on Controls related to BT Global Europe BV
- Coordinating the audits together with GFFS and liaison with the external auditors KPMG;
- Regulatory reporting (e.g CBS, DNB and ACM);
- Main point of contact for Group Finance teams
- Liaison with Deloitte/E&Y on all tax related items;
- Liaison with sales teams and GFSS on accounting issues;
- Finance related (ad hoc) projects related to BT Global Europe BV or BNLN Region;
Key Stakeholders:
- CFO Benelux & Nordics;
- Finance controller Benelux & Nordics.
Skills and experience required for the job
- Degree in Business Administration, specialized in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent
- Relevant experience in a complex Finance environment (5yr+ min.)
- Strong accounting skills, both IFRS as well as Local GAAP; Experience in preparing annual accounts for statutory reporting;
- Knowledge of VAT, Corporate Income Tax,
- Excellent problem solving capability
- Experience with ERP system, preferably SAP and Oracle
- Experience in Management reporting;
- Excellent analytic skills to analyse the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss and explain variances against prior periods, forecast and budget;
- Knowledge of VAT, Corporate Income Tax,
- Excellent communications skills;
- Experience with ERP system, preferable SAP and Oracle;
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Excel);
- Experience in a multi-country/multi-cultural environment in Europe is considered a plus;
- Mature, well-organized and a self-starter with hands-on mindset;
