The team you will be joining is accountable for delivering against the global category strategy and acts as the business partner to key stakeholders and suppliers. The team is responsible for setting the agenda for strategic sourcing and drives innovation opportunities to constantly manage spend and realise value for BT.

 

The Procurement Specialist will help to design, drive, and deliver our procurement plans and activities in BT’s IT Portfolio Category (B2B) across IT Security, Software, Hardware and Technology Solutions.  This role helps to develop and implement procurement frameworks, policies, and procedures. This role will build strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement competency and continuous value delivery.

 

What will the role involve? 

 

•    Initially you will work closely with key team members to gain an understanding of BT’s processes and business requirements plus build your understanding of our strategic approach to Procurement.
•    Assisting the team to identify, drive, and deliver procurement plans and activities in BT’s B2B Category Management, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team.
•    Negotiating and implementing procurement frameworks and procedures.
•    Working with BT business stakeholders to help identify and deliver savings opportunities, efficiencies, and compliance.
•    Ability to work within B2B supply chain scenarios and provide agile responses to Business Units to assist in the progression of market opportunities.
•    B2B bid support and supporting internal business units with creative supply chain solutions for corporate customers.  
•    Providing key inputs for Category Strategies and Sourcing Activities, through planning and execution of sourcing, and supplier and risk management activities
•    Building and maintaining category knowledge, apply best practices around sourcing approach, supplier selection, total cost of ownership and negotiation tactics.
•    Assisted by your team, drive and deliver end-to-end sourcing projects including complex contractual and pricing models, in accordance with strict timelines.
•    Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers and negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements utilising the latest contracting tools.
•    Deliver other business partnering services to key customer facing divisions.

 

What are we looking for in our Procurement Teams?

 

•    We’re looking for someone with an analytical, logical approach to problem solving.
•    Commercial mindset with an interest in commercial negotiation and risk management. 
•    Focussed on total cost / value and doing what’s right for the business.
•    Comfortable with (or open to learning) digital sourcing and risk management tools and willingness to develop and learn.
•    Must be willing to learn and understand Procurement processes and systems (Ariba)
•    Initiating and managing competitive bidding (RFPs), negotiation, and building internal business cases for Exec. review.
•    Ability to manage sometimes complex, and time pressured requirements and to deliver projects and results on time.
•    Stakeholder focussed and able to build positive working relations across the business.
•    Comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment where you will integrate as part of a team where teamwork and mutual respect and support is highly valued.

•    Fluent, Multi-Lingual – Especially English Speaker.
•    BA degree, ideally in a relevant area (e.g. Business, Economics, IT)
•    MBA / master’s degree an advantage
•    Interest in technology and willingness to learn and continually develop skills.
•    CIPS or CPSM/Equivalent qualifications an advantage but not necessary.
