Why Business Unit/Function?

Group Corporate Finance helps deliver our strategy and plans for growth. We shape and steer the direction of the business by managing our people, finances, shared services and buildings. We also oversee our legal, regulatory and compliance obligations too.

The primary function of Group Treasury is to manage the provision of liquidity to the BT Group and to manage the underlying financial exposures of the totality of BT’s global operations. We put in place structures and processes to ensure that the group’s cash can be accessed and used where it is needed, and are responsible for all decisions about how the group will raise debt, including quasi financing arrangements within the group’s contractual arrangements.

We also manage the financial risks that the group is exposed to, including changing interest rates and foreign currency exchange rate exposures.
 
This role sits in Group Treasury Middle office which takes full ownership and responsibility for Group Liquidity, daily cash management, Cash Forecasting, Intra-group loan portfolio, banking, guarantees and oversees global procedures on these fields.

What you’ll be doing – your accountabilities

•    Oversight of Global cash management withing BT Group
•    Advisor and support on Banking and Treasury System projects
•    Lead new banking technology automation projects 
•    M&A treasury support for BT entities
•    Design and implementation of systems enhancements to deliver improvement initiatives (eg:Automation, AI capabilities for Treasury)
•    Drive and advise for banking roll-out completion
•    Relationship and incident management with Global banking partners
•    Provide support for International banking tenders
•    Manage the Parent Company Guarantee process
•    Own the group bank charge management process
•    Act as a backup for Middle office activities

Experience you would be expected to have

•    You have at least 5 years Treasury experience (particularly desirable: cash management, banking, systems, payments, forecasting)
•    Knowledge of project and change management
•    Experience in leading/supporting M&A Integration or Treasury/Banking related projects 
•    Experience with Treasury Management System
•    Make decisions in ambiguous situations using incomplete information or differing opinions
•    Strong organisational skills
•    Strong controls experience
•    Great stakeholder management
•    Advantage of having experience with SAP S/4 Hana
