Reporting directly to a Senior Manager within Customer Solutions & Design for a Technology or Regional Practice, the Technical Design Manager collaborates closely with their leadership team. As a key member of this team, the role involves leading, motivating, and providing direction to a team of Technical Designers, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

What you’ll be doing

The responsibilities of the Technical Design Manager include:

  • Lead and oversee complex transitions, transformations, and changes within network infrastructure, including WNB, C2M integration, and other intricate initiatives across Edge Technologies including Cisco/Meraki/HPE LAN/WLAN/SDLAN/DC/ACI
  • High number of emergent products with complex solution and customers.
  • Accountable for end-to-end technical solution and delivery of solution DCMs to time, cost and quality.
  • Take accountability for end-to-end design and adherence to CS&D gold standards and governance.
  • Take responsibility for team management, including risk mitigation, career growth, performance management, knowledge sharing, and training on product or service specialisation.

As a Technical Design Manager, the skills you’ll need include:

  • Technical aptitude/background to be able to discuss with customers and internal stakeholders the intricacies of the technology focus.
  • Proficient in people leadership, with a focus on mentorship, coaching, and motivation to support team members in reaching goals, cultivating collaboration, and encouraging high performance.
  • Adept at fostering strong relationships both internally and externally, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment of goals across diverse stakeholders.
  • Skilled in risk management and governance, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations while proactively mitigating project risks.
  • Possess the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, coupled with adeptness in engaging in impactful commercial discussions.
