Why this role matters
This critical role exists to ensure secure, accurate and timely compliance with lawful requests for assistance and the disclosure of information requested by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Courts and other persons or organisations entitled under the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 and other statutory legislation.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensuring the secure, accurate and timely compliance with lawful requests for assistance and the disclosure of information requested by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Courts and other persons or organisations entitled under the Investigatory Powers Act) and other legislation which requires mandatory compliance.
- Extracting data from BT Group business systems following established processes, providing the data for LEAs and other agencies for use in criminal investigations and court proceedings.
- The maintenance of good working relationships with internal teams and dedicated contacts within the police. Acting as the first point of contact on issues relating to the disclosure of data.
- Working closely with peers to ensure the team effectively meet the requirements of role related responsibilities, which includes managing police queries that come into shared mailboxes and queue management.
- Being part of a 24x7 rotation for on call provision for critical disclosure services.
- Ensuring errors are kept to a minimum by striving for 100% accuracy when fulfilling your daily disclosure responsibilities, maintaining meticulous standards of accuracy and that strict agreed processes are always followed, and our SLAs met.
- Peer to peer checks is completed for data gathered, prior to disclosure to ensure accuracy is maintained and provide/receive supporting feedback.
- Occasional attendance at Court on behalf of BT as a witness in relation to disclosed information and providing guidance to the Court/jury to understand the information.
- Demonstrating flexibility to ensure disclosure capability is always fully operational, which includes providing resource, and a willingness for development and cross training.
- Improving knowledge/skills to be able to handle the evolution of the disclosure of telecommunications data.
- Ensuring all processes are followed, documented and maintained, reflecting any changes.
What skills you’ll need
- Ideally some knowledge of BT Group customer relationship management systems.
- Preferably a basic understanding of the Investigatory Powers Act (2016) relating to the acquisition and disclosure of communications data.
- Tenacity, curiosity and attention to detail.
- Excellent and effective communications skills.
- Excellent collaborator and ability to maintain positive working relationships.
- Can work both under direction and independently and has a clear framework of accountability.
- Adaptable learner.
