Why this job matters
This role is key to ensuring Consumers key deliverables are executed as per the Consumer Annual Plan, ensuring capabilities critical to the future success of Consumer are prioritised and working with digital teams ensure delivered in line with plan, working in both waterfall and agile environments. Promoting the freedom for teams to develop solutions in an unconstrained way, whilst ensuring optimised work delivery to a high standard.


What I’ll be doing 

  • Responsible for managing the supply and demand decisions across multiple business teams including Voice, hardware, GTM, channel and trading teams
  • Responsible for Budget planning, sizing and resource schedule for WLMS2 Platform and Virtusa (3rd party resource) - Working alongside Digital to provide an agreed budget for each financial year
  • Manage the governance process for opex and capex spend and ensure channel and downstream teams are comfortable with the changes and have appropriate capacity. Resolving any capacity issues or conflicts with senior management, up to and including Director level.
  • Makes and tracks dynamic decisions about demand prioritisation according to business need and capacity which influence Consumer delivery roadmap. Including directly making choices and recommendations on behalf of Consumer at key business planning meetings ensuring the best outcome to protect revenue and regulatory interests
  • Negotiates business priority  decisions amongst executive leadership team (Directors) to ensure that strategy is delivered and safeguarded
  • Responsible for post release defect management in conjunction with technical suppliers to ensure critical fixes and all parties informed


Skills required for the job

  • Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
  • Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance
  • Strong stakeholder management:  Able to have difficult conversations at senior level
  • Excellent negotiation skills: Experience of dealing with both internal & external suppliers
  • Translate complex messages into straightforward  and understandable choices
  • High level of numeracy and data analytics
