Why this job matters
At BT, our Solution Architects design secure, scalable infrastructure that underpins critical national services. This role is central to delivering technical solutions in high-trust environments—especially within the public sector—where security, reliability, and strategic alignment are non-negotiable.

You’ll also shape long-term product and architecture roadmaps that align with BT’s commercial goals and governance frameworks.
This is a role for someone who thrives on technical depth, strategic thinking, and making a tangible impact on secure, national-scale projects.

- Leading technical discovery and translating customer needs into actionable designs
- Driving product and architecture roadmaps that align with strategic and commercial goals
- Supporting identity, access, and federated login systems for government and enterprise clients
- Ensuring solutions meet cybersecurity and compliance standards (e.g. NIST, ISO 27002, CIS Controls)
- Producing clear, actionable documentation including proposals, scopes of work, and risk assessments
- Collaborating with stakeholders to align solutions with strategic goals and product roadmaps
- Driving innovation in architecture to solve complex challenges in secure environments

- Architecting secure IP telephony solutions, including protocol-level design and service architecture
- Navigating governance and security sign-off processes, particularly in enterprise or public sector settings
- Applying cybersecurity principles to infrastructure and application design
- Collaborating directly with customers and stakeholders to shape and deliver technical solutions
- Integrating systems using APIs, web services, and cloud-native technologies
Bonus experience
