The Legacy Transformation programmes (Legacy Product Migrations and Legacy Networks Closure) are a critical part of BT’s modernisation. They will transform and simplify our portfolio for the future, by developing the new IP products that BT and our customers need to operate and compete in the market place. These programmes enable BT customer facing units to migrate their customers to from end-of-life analogue to alternative strategic digital products for a better, future proof and enhanced experience. This will allow BT to close the legacy networks (like Public Switch Telephone Network) needed to run the legacy portfolio, unlocking millions of pounds of cost and energy savings for BT to invest in new products and services and create value for shareholders.
The role of Senior Manager, Strategy and Governance is a key role within Networks that shapes, supports and drives BT’s Legacy Transformation strategy and decision-making to effectively drive performance and deliver results/business case outcomes.

•Risk and Issues - Ensure that Risk and Issues are managed and reported across the Legacy Transformation programme in accordance with the standards set by the programme, and by Networks and Group risk functions, providing valuable management reporting across the entire stakeholder base.
• Dependencies - Ensure that external and internal dependencies are managed and reported in-line with the substantial size, complexity and scale of the programme providing valuable management reporting across the entire stakeholder base.
• Budgets - Ensure that budgets are managed and tracked effectively
• Plan of Record - Be the custodian of the plan of record across Legacy Products Transformation programmes.
• Reporting - Establish and manage timely reporting of programme performance to programme, Networks and Group stakeholders on behalf of the Programme Director.
• Communications – responsible for supporting the Director, Legacy Product Transformation with programme-wide communications and events, including an up to the BT Plc Board .
• Influencing - Using domain and industry experience as well to introduce project delivery tools and processes as well as working alongside the company PMO to ensure a set of standards is established and managed.
• Continuous Improvement - Using domain and industry experience to introduce or advance project delivery tools, processes and standards to ensure the Legacy Transformation Programme meets or exceeds those required by Networks and Group programme and business governance.
The successful candidate will have the following skills & experience
• Experience of managing, influencing and steering large virtual multi-disciplinary teams across an organisation to deliver highly visible and strategic outcomes.
• Experience in organising and running programme governance (including with senior stakeholders) for high complexity strategic programmes.
• Experience formulating and co-ordinating inputs to strategy and plans for discussion and agreement by senior stakeholders.
• PMO experience in large, complex organisations, ideally in the context of large-scale migration programmes.
• Experience of reporting, specifically risk, dependency, KPIs and financial reporting
• Proven senior stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to think beyond existing solutions, to challenge assumptions, status quo and existing beliefs and drive forward new ways of working.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable with presenting at Director/MD level
