Why this job matters

This role leads the coordination of activity across the newly set up external eco-system to feed into the BT PMO and across government departments, review bodies and non- direct delivery suppliers at an executive level.


It will deliver, from a wide variety of sources and forums, outside the delivery PMO back into BT synthesising information reporting, political and nonpolitical activities risk assessments and reviews. By adopting a continuous improvement methodology, it will continually strive to increase its maturity level and adopt best practice from across landscape to influence shape within the programme. 

 

This role will make sure accurate and timely insight is available for all relevant audiences, including internal executive committee members, wider team internally and the breadth of stakeholders that make up the external ecosystem. This also provides a “helicopter view” across the full view of the wider Ecosystem to shape strategy to achieve our commercial and strategic goals, and that appropriate action can be taken quickly where risks and gaps/shortfalls are identified working directly with the Implementation Director and the MD.


The successful candidate will be cleared to BPSS (or equivalent) as a minimum.  You may even be required to undergo National Security Vetting (e.g. CTC, SC or NPPV).

What you’ll be doing

•    Lead and collaborate with a virtual team (outside of BT) responsible for ensuring that there a coherent external view from wider Eco system support end-to-end performance and decision making
•    Decisions on external structure and approach that will feed into delivery; and also on key strategic business KPIs
•    Building outstanding relationships across multiple organisations (Governmental and non-governmental) up to executive level to support MD
•    Establishes robust and consistent analysis, integrating performance reporting practices and ensuring appropriate application to delivery PMO e.g. metrics of performance of other stakeholders that could impact downstream performance
•    Identifies lessons learnt and key themes across other government programmes and committees
•    Builds a strategic network across the government includes building relationships and having timely, honest conversations with wider stakeholders to support ambition

What we would like to see on your CV

•    Understanding of the levers that drive commercial and financial performance, and what we need to dial up and dial down to maximise commercial performance
•    Ability to develop a delivery planning approach to ensure the allocation of suitable resource to the delivery of large scale transformation programmes
•    Proven stakeholders management skills, able to work with key stakeholder to embed key performance tracking and assurance processes
•    Excellent reporting expertise, able to effectively store and manage data across a complex suite of data management systems and create insightful reporting using a variety of reporting tools
•    Excellent analytical capability, able to communicate complex data in a simple, meaningful way for different stakeholder groups

 

You may even have the following:

•    Broad understanding of the Business market, competitors, customers, and product and proposition portfolio
•    Proven experience of running PMOs for a portfolio of diverse programmes and an understanding of suitable performance metrics for projects delivered by different delivery methods (agile and waterfall)
•    Proven experience in creating intelligent reporting suites that can be rolled out on a large scale

This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
