Why this role matters
The role plays a significant part in ensuring the Business success of UK Sales & Commercial, delivering financial planning and strategy to shape commercial decision making that enhances the sustainable profitable revenue growth across a range of products and services, on both the medium and long term.
The role involves ownership of the end-to-end financial processes and strategy for Global Secure Solutions (GSS), partnering with the GSS Director to provide financial insight and guidance to support effective business strategy development, decision making and performance management.
You will hold the GSS Senior Leadership Team to account to deliver the Sales and profit targets, using financial data and commercial insight to drive action and optimise productivity and performance – both tactically and strategically.
What you'll be doing
- Business partner the GSS Director to provide financial insight and guidance to support effective strategy.
- Lead a large finance team, ensuring clear accountabilities are set and priorities are aligned.
- Play a key leadership role in setting and shaping the future strategic direction of the Business, ensuring they provide financial leadership in the translation od strategy into practical solutions and day to day working practices.
- Oversee and review forecast, and budget details and provide detailed feedback and insight to the business on financial performance and anticipated risks.
- Consider risk, regulation and uncertainty in all short and mid-term decisions and ensure that key risks are identified and managed in line with Group Risk Policy, establishing clear accountabilities and an appropriate risk culture.
- Lead on ensuring right investment decisions are made across the business, ensuring that the decisions and impacts are clearly understood.
- Mentor, coach, and/or manage experienced professionals to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance.
- Lead the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting processes and to resolve data issues impacting productivity and compliance.
The skills you'll need
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant Leadership and stakeholder experience, working within a highly matrixed environment.
- Experience of working with Commercial teams to deliver unit financials.
- Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, to inform decision making.
- Be willing to voice an opinion and look at the ‘art of the possible’. Must be able to create a clear vision, delivering against key metrics
- Demonstrate an extremely high level of analytical capability.
