Why this job matters

 

Small and Medium Business (SMB) is a key sales channel for BT, contributing £1.7bn revenue and £0.8bn EBIT per year, and serving 1m+ customers in the UK.  It’s an exciting period of growth for SMB and as we embed our new Business model to achieve that growth, this role will support the delivery of our ambitious transformation plans and goals. 


In a highly competitive market, you’ll play a key role identifying and closing new business opportunities. Through building strong relationships the roleholder achieves (exceeds!) targets for their prospects, by really getting to know their business and transformation roadmap, and developing win plans that showcase how BT & EE’s portfolio best meets their needs – targets may include customer contact activity and sales pipeline health, as well as Sales order value/revenue growth, market share, and customer experience.  A hunger to learn will be key in this role, alongside a desire to try new things to help new customers readily engage with BT and to make sure BT beat the competition to win in the market.  .

What you’ll be doing

 

  • The BT Mobility specialist for  BT local businesses supporting them on everything Mobility Telephony, including demonstrations of the products, building quotes, Special bid requests, customers visits, BTLB Focus Days, BTLB meetings.
  • Achieves 100% or more of product set target aligned to territory using Sales methodology & sales plans.
  • You lead the review, analysis and interpretation of sales trends across their applicable product pillars for ensuring the delivery of sales and commercial KPIs. You set up and implement the commercial levers that will drive and optimise these KPIs to maximise sales performance and take corrective actions.
  • Maintain a high awareness and knowledge of the SMB market, including industry, competitors and telecoms and internal activities (and guide others to do the same) to ensure that all business opportunities are identified, considered and implemented appropriately contributing to the wider Field Sales Strategy.
  • Sales management & coaching capability with   complex stakeholder management skills. Including:-
    • Customer – including C-level, varying customer size,
    • BTLB – MD’s, sales teams, field sales, desk opps
    • BT – PSM, Specialist peers, Trading, Commercial, 
    • Customer Service & Order Management, Propositions, Product, Marketing.
    • Technical knowledge on specific products & services

  • Sealing the deal - You create and close sales opportunities through research, insight and planning. You identify and articulate the value of our products, services and solutions to the customer.
  • Sales Governance - Accountable for assuring compliance with sales processes and our legal and competition requirements within the team e.g. salesforce data management, pipeline management. Adheres to governance requirements of sales pay plan and sales incentives. Accountable for assuring compliance requirements of the team e.g. Mandatory Training, Expenses and Gifts and Hospitality policies.
  • Technology Evangelist - You act as an ambassador both in the external market and with internal stakeholders, demonstrating ethical sales behaviour and deliver excellent customer experience results.

Flexible Working

 

BT have moved to a hybrid working model - you can work from home 2 days per week. This means you’ll be at your contractual location 3 days a week.
