The Wholesale Sales function partners with and delivers capability to our biggest customers (across the UK and beyond), who in turn deliver communication services to their customers. In Wholesale, we leverage BT’s assets, diversity and sales excellence to provide these customers with best in class, innovative technology that empowers their customers’ future. 

 

Why this job matters

 

The Planning and Strategy Manager is varied and wide-raging role, involving a significant amount of senior stakeholder interaction and management. The Planning and Strategy Manager is accountable for the Strategy and Planning activities for Wholesale, designing and leading the implementation of various commercial interventions, and playing a key role in developing the Medium Term Plan (MTP) alongside a wider cross-functional team. A strong understanding of the key enablers and dependencies of the commercial and operational plan is required, as well as an ability to work in virtual teams to move initiatives and launches forward to fruition. In addition, the Planning and Strategy Manager will make key contributions to the Wholesale strategy including assisting with strategic asks from the Business Leadership Team (BLT) and will perform commercial deep dives for monthly unit reviews with BLT and for Quarterly Budget Reviews.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Own the preparation, consolidation and facilitation of  Wholesale monthly Business Unit Review (BUR), MTP and associated governance forums, ensuring all actions are tracked.
  • Prepare responses to the Business leadership teams strategic queries based on market analysis and customer knowledge. 
  • Checking that all planning activity has a strong interlock with trading activity to ensure opportunities are acted upon and financial gaps are closed in a timely manner.
  • Own the reporting of Wholesale strategic KPIs to manage their achievement within each sector.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders on various initiatives, guaranteeing the commercial impact is understood.

Flexible Working
