About the role:


In this role you will be joining the Data and Applications team here at BT, who are responsible for acquiring, organising and curating data so that it is easily accessible, supporting the wider Data Reporting and Analysis team. You will be responsible for the continuity of Enterprise Service Google Cloud Platform’s (GCP) data capability. This includes the daily BAU production of GCP strategic data models (Measure Marketplace – MMP; Insights & KPIs), as well as the design, development and deployment of new features and measures into those models. Working closely with Agile sub-contract developers you will deliver a new containerised cloud-native application (MMP), driving for its configuration to produce strategic insight and continuous reports. You will be responsible for the developers performance in terms of time, cost and quality. Whilst doing this you will ensure a healthy and prioritised workload.


What you’ll be doing:


  • You will be accountable for the performance and reliability of all data residing in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) which is utilised by the Service Data Reporting and Analysis team.
  • Responsible for the effective management of your workstack and development priorities and timescales.
  • In charge of the supporting documentation for Enterprise Data Reporting and Analysis data models and applications.
  • Accountable for the availability, performance and accuracy of Enterprise Service Data solutions and Tools
  • Ensuring the security of Enterprise Service Data within the DRA suite of application ensuring compliance to EUGDPR regulations.
  • Works across Enterprise Service and the DRA team, engaging with stakeholders to agree, prioritise and implement key initiatives, communicating outcomes and progress.
  • Implementing and recommending improvements upon a strong governance framework whilst ensuring the basis of good data management are in place.
  • In charge of the successful delivery of requirements place into our supplier teams (Digital, Enterprise Data Team, Data Governance, etc.)


What skills and experience you’ll need:


  • Knowledge of working with very effective data applications
  • Experience of working with contractors on commercial terms.
  • High awareness of BT’s regulatory environment and the broader industry and in which we operate especially data regulation.
  • Understanding of identifying and mitigating data quality issues ensuring the accuracy and validity of our data.
  • Expertise of building strong data delivery plans.




  • Knowledge and Understanding of a variety of GCP Services (BigQuery, DataFlow, PubSub, Cloud Functions, GCS, Composer, Logging, etc)
  • Excellent SQL (either Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle PL/SQL, ANSI SQL – BigQuery) knowledge and experience
  • Understanding of data modelling techniques
  • Understanding of Enterprise Products and Services (Business and Public Sector and Wholesale)
  • Strong organisational skills, to manage conflicting demands on time by taking a ruthless approach to prioritisation
  • Strong Communication skills, with the ability to create clear delivery plans, aligning the team whilst motivating / empowering matrix teams to deliver




  • Skilled in Website development (HTML, Python, CSS, JSON, Javascript)
  • Experience with Oracle APEX
  • Experience with interacting with service-oriented platforms (SOAP and ReSTful APIs)
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with OutSystems (or similar low code application environments)
