This role will play a critical part in the creation and be part of BT Digital build data pipelines, data systems and the data products built on top. 

 

What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities

  • Design solutions ensuring conformance to architectural principles and patterns, building digital customer experiences for our business customers 
  • Validating requirements to facilitate effectively developed solutions
  • Connect with Enterprise architects and technical design authority for discussions and approval of the design patterns and solutions
  • Understand key regulatory requirements (Ofcom, PCI, EU GDPR, Digital Economy Act etc.) and ensures all data is compliant to regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identifies new potential data sources and assess feasibility of data ingestion
  • Document and present findings and strategy comprehensively and articulately and be responsible for the delivery of Digital architecture artefacts
  • Ensures that all data acquired is fully described/understood and communicated using appropriate tools
  • Support other disciplines within the engineering team to execute upon strategic direction

Skills required for the job

  • Demonstrable experience as a solution architect
  • Experience working on highly available and scalable infrastructure projects incorporating Cloud-based technology
  • Strong expertise of OSS application
  • Deep technical knowledge of complex (and simple) architectures, covering all aspects (compliance, risk, security, governance)
  • Experienced in deploying data solutions and cloud infrastructure via CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate, ODI and how they can be used in a data environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills, with a collaborative approach
  • Confidence effectively analysing business requirements and articulating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Formal advanced certification in required technical and domain skills
  • Ability to manage changing business and technical requirements in highly dynamic project environments
