The Corporate Affairs, Group Brand and Insight team is responsible for building and protecting the reputation BT Group. 
A Strategic Insight Professional supports the development of long-term business objectives by synthesising all sources of customer insight and customer data. This role also requires flexibility, with the ability to pivot to meet short- and medium-term commercial goals. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure that strategic decisions are backed by high-quality insights from various research and data sources, ultimately driving BT's performance. 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Group Insight teams and key stakeholders to create cohesive, data-driven insight narratives that inform BT’s strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the development of executive-level reports and high-impact presentations, using both qualitative and quantitative insights to shape BT's long-term strategy across consumer and business markets.
  • Analyse customer data to identify trends, behaviours, and preferences, translating complex datasets into actionable insights that support business objectives and strategic decisions.
  • Regularly engage with business leads to understand market priorities and challenges, converting these into strategic research plans that align with BT’s goals.
  • Lead and drive research initiatives within the UK telecoms market, delivering insights that maximise business impact and inform leadership decisions.
  • Produce clear, concise written commentary and visually impactful PowerPoint presentations, ensuring insights are tailored for senior leadership and aligned with BT’s strategic priorities.
  • Ensure accurate, relevant, and timely delivery of insights that support both short- and medium-term commercial goals, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.

The Skills and Experience You’ll Need

Must have:

  • Significant experience within strategy, insight, or research roles, preferably within a large organisation or consultancy.
  • Experience in synthesising customer and market data into impactful, business-relevant insights.
  • Ability to create clear, concise, and visually impactful reports and PowerPoint slides for Exec and Board-level audiences, ensuring complex insights are communicated effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with handling a wide range of research sources and data sets.
  • Proven experience in presenting complex data and insights in a simple, compelling way to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships across a large, matrixed organisation.

Would be good to have:

  • Knowledge of the telecommunications and technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with primary and secondary research methodologies.
