Why this job matters

The individual in this role will be responsible for leading, planning and executing a strategic events and hospitality marketing plan that aligns to our goals and supports our wider marketing programmes. Our events and hospitality programme needs to drive brand awareness, consideration and conversion across our target account lists – whether this is new acquisition or driving growth from our existing customer base. They will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, planning and executing world class events and hospitality that support the goals and objectives of the full marketing team – ensuring strong ROI delivery.

 

The person in this role will need to get under the skin of the outcomes the UK sales teams need from marketing and be responsible for ensuring we support strategic plan delivery. Whilst defining the KPI’s and measuring these to ensure we can track success. Leadership of the team is extremely important to drive a high performing culture as well as strong stakeholder management.

 

You will have a clear grasp on our marketing goals and objectives and design memorable customer experiences that excite and delight.

What you’ll be doing

  • Key interface into the private, public, wholesale and SMB teams as well as marketing to ensure our event and hospitality programmes drive our strategic objectives.
  • Creating robust governance and compliance wrap around all hospitality and events.
  • Create clear measurement and demonstrable ROI and not be afraid to stop or pause where this isn’t achievable.
  • Plan and execute world class events and hospitality experiences for our customers that drive a tangible commercial outcome.
  • Responsible and accountable for delivering the Customer Advisory Board series of events and supporting communications wrap.
  • Collaborate with multiple areas of the marketing team to execute experiences that map into our strategic vertical, segment and campaign plans.
  • Secures the budget for the events and hospitality programme.
  • Provide results and ROI on customer activity.
  • Bring some brilliant creativity to what we do to enable BT to stand out in a crowded Telco marketplace.

The skills and experience you will have under your belt

  • Strong experience leading a high-performing hybrid location marketing team, providing clear direction and support to professionals
  • Considerable background in creating impactful customer experiences across events and hospitality.
  • Passionate about creating memorable customer experiences across events and hospitality that customers want to tell everyone about
  • Demonstrated success in delivering revenue-impacting campaigns and measuring outcomes.
  • Skilled in developing big-picture strategies while executing hands-on initiatives.
  • Strong ability to work across teams to deliver targeted marketing activity.
  • Ability to bring together data points, insight and analytics from multiple sources (internally and externally) to ensure we are relevant, targeted and successful
  • Ability to prioritise marketing efforts to maximise ROI, with experience in measuring program effectiveness and ROI
  • Comfortable using data, insights, and analytics from multiple sources to inform strategy.
  • Strong commercial acumen, understanding of business drivers and revenue impact.
  • Skilled in building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure high engagement with plans; natural ability to foster strong internal and external relationships
  • Confident and engaging presenter, able to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Excellent project management, skills, planning and execution skills to deliver activity on time and within budget.
