Why this job matters
As the Account Manager, you’ll manage the sales activity across the Ministry of Defence (MoD) Front Line Commands, holding accountability for new sales and the overall P&L of the Army account.
We are looking for an Account Manager who can not only spot the opportunity but convince the business it is the correct path to follow via the Win New Business process. You’ll need to align business resource to fulfil the solution and ultimately provide a positive result for BT and the customer.
Digital Transformation is at the heart of what we are providing our customers, so we require an Account Manager who understand what this means and can articulate how they can help BT Defence achieve our objectives.
What you’ll be doing
• Proactively contributes to the account strategy function by supporting the Sales Director in the creation of the account strategy and account development plan.
• Takes responsibility for developing successful, sustainable, and profitable long term relationship with customers within a complex hierarchy structure.
• Proactively develops a strong understanding of the customer’s requirements and transformational roadmap.
• Creates industry level consortia to identify and solve medium to long term business problems.
• Defines, develops, and owns key customer relationships and customer contact strategy and drives customer satisfaction improvements increasing Net Promoter score within the account.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites, and to engage in social networking events that sometimes could include weekend or evenings.
The skills you’ll need
What you'll bring
• Sales experience or the ability and transferrable skills demonstrated for a sales account management role.
• Experience working with UK Ministry of Defence, specifically the British Army.
• A good understanding of public sector frameworks is helpful although not essential.
• Experience creating virtual teams to deliver commercial sound complex customer solutions whilst maintaining a positive customer experience.
• Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
