About the role
This role focuses on supporting the delivery, tracking and optimisation of the Digital Business Strategy, alongside wider Digital plans and channel volumes / channel shares used in the budgeting process. Delivering this strategy is central to the Consumer 5‑year MTP and spans all EE and BT products and channels. You’ll work closely with the Digital team as well as key Consumer Finance partners, including Retail Finance, Sales Finance and Trading.
What you’ll be doing

Channel performance reporting — Producing weekly and monthly reports on actual sales volumes by channel (Retail, Contact Centre and Digital) and investigating material variances versus target.

Trading insight — Attending weekly trading calls to understand drivers of channel performance and updating weekly slides for circulation to the wider Opex team.

Digital roadmap reviews — Leading detailed monthly reviews of Digital roadmap initiative performance versus target with Digital trading teams.

Budgeting and forecasting — Supporting the Finance Manager through the Budget cycle and in‑year forecasting.

Risk and opportunity assessment — Identifying risks and opportunities to future channel volumes, considering external dynamics (e.g. inflation) and internal factors (e.g. tech release delays), and updating the Finance Manager accordingly.

Stakeholder engagement — Working with Channel Finance Managers, Senior Finance Managers and the Contact Centre Finance team.

Deep‑dive analysis — Supporting ad‑hoc analysis to uncover drivers of trading performance, such as customer price sensitivity and business case impacts.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Competent in variance analysis between at least two sets of data e.g. actuals vs target.
- Willingness to challenge stakeholders (same level or one grade above) where appropriate.
- Being able to evaluate multiple data sets and understand the key messages from this.
- Resiliency when trying to extract insight or numbers from across stakeholders.
- Managing own workload and proactive communication with Finance manager to flag early when support needed.
- Focused on delivery of tasks.
- Intermediate Excel skills (vlookup, SUMIFs etc).
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Working towards an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- At least 2 years experience in a finance (preferably commercial finance) or commercial role
