About the role

This role is responsible for the Consumer reporting processes within Consumer. Communicating performance to senior management to ensure the CFU is on track to deliver their financial commitments and if not assist effective and prompt decision making. The role involves close interaction working closely with other FP&A and reporting teams across the business

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering timely, accurate & informative commercial financial & KPI information to senior stakeholders including full control check and reconciliations to SAP
  • Consolidation of Consumer results and KPIs with commentary provided to inform senior leadership of performance Vs Flash, MTP, outlook and YoY including Reporting Pack submission to Consumer CEO
  • Ensuring commercial explanations for variances to comparators (budget, prior year, prior month etc.) are fully understood for both financial and KPIs
  • Management of operational month end with accounting team and liaising with accounting and commercial teams to understand key variances in a busy month end period 
  • Managing the submission of Consumer month-end results to BT Group Finance team
  • Running the Consumer external quarterly results publication process along with Investor Relations & External Reporting including the press release, Q&A document and externally published KPIs 
  • Provide quarterly Competitor Analysis on VMO2/VodafoneThree vs Consumer and ad-hoc competitor analysis 
  • Working closely with commercial finance teams to develop Consumer Reporting and best practice and drive adoption of SAC & system led reporting in Consumer

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (equivalent ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
  • Ability to work with detailed and accurate models and data, turning large sets of data into something presentable and free of mistakes
  • Ability to tailor messages to relevant audiences, distilling key messages without losing appropriate detail, including senior stakeholders

  • Strong finance expertise across multiple activities, policies and best‑practice processes
  • Strong relationship‑building, credibility and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change
