Why this role matters

EE Retail is one of Consumers key channel trading arms, alongside Digital and Contact Centre.  Over the last 2 years, Retail has been growing and continues to be supported by significant investment to improve store capability, fit for serving customers into the future.

This is a vital role in supporting delivery of Consumers financial goals. You will build a comprehensive understanding of Retail performance and challenge leaders on both commercial performance and cost related aspects.

Your work links directly to asks from the Consumer CEO – typically related to the retail store estate strategy, whether own stores, franchise or associated areas such as field sales. 

You will have the opportunity to rapidly build knowledge of the Retail business whilst developing skills in communication, stakeholder management, and leadership as well as applying best in class analytical techniques to facilitate Senior Management decision making.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead on summarising the Retail story, for budgeting, RLT meetings and CFO / Director reviews.
  • Business casing linked to store estate and store estate strategy (investments, closure, openings, consolidations etc).
  • Post Investment Reviews – collate financial and non-financial data producing outputs for review by senior management.
  • Store profitability reporting and updates to new reporting suite within QLIK.
  • Co-ordinate with Business Partners to track risks/opportunities related to EE Property.
  • Manage risks to MTP within Retail Property and collaborating with Retail team as a whole (TLC and Other Costs).
  • Month End – tracking actual spend vs target/PY and investigating spend with Central Finance.
  • CAPEX Tracking of Retail spend, reporting and assisting project managers with actuals/forecasting.

The skills you'll need

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to challenge Business Partners.
  • Able to identify issues, get to root causes using financial analysis and insight to diagnose and solve problems.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with stakeholders, guiding, collaborating and sharing knowledge to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint and Excel). Ability to model scenarios and comfortable with large data sets.
  • Demonstrable professionalism with a proven ability to operate in a complex, fast paced business environment.
  • Decision making in ambiguous situations, using incomplete information or managing differing opinions.
