About this role

The role holder will ensure Openreach attracts, acquires and develops the right mix of diverse talent to underpin the current and future talent requirements needed to underpin our pipeline of talent.  The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of the Openreach Leadership & Talent Development Strategy by ensuring there is a strong pipeline of early careers talent for the future.

Locations – London or Leeds

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Design, implementation & management of our early careers talent entry programmes including graduates and management apprenticeships
  • Proactively partner with HRBPs, talent leads and key business leaders to build a deep understanding of the business need and work closely with the group centres of excellence to develop the talent offer identifying improvements and gaps, and working with the group Centres of Expertise implement these across Openreach
  • Partner with the BT Group Recruitment, and group talent team to ensure Openreach attracts the right calibre & diversity of candidate and receives the service we require to achieve our objectives
  • Support the Senior Manager, Leadership & Talent with design, implementation of all talent interventions and succession planning across Openreach.
  • Provide robust MI and analytics to support the delivery of programme outcomes
  • Ensure that an external perspective and research is undertaken to continuously challenge our thought leadership and keep up with external market trends
  • The role holder will be an active member of the broader HR team and will contribute to the wider talent community of BT.

You'll have the following skills and experience

  • Experience  in and passion for the talent, succession & diversity arena
  • Experience of running early careers programmes
  • Strong programme manager able to confidently manage multiple programmes of work running concurrently
  • Strong development  / learning programme design skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, managing stakeholder with multiple important priorities influencing at senior levels, both across BT Group and Openreach; used to consulting with a demanding client base – including HR business partners and senior leaders
