Key Purpose of The Role

 

Reporting into the Content Manager, the Technical Product Manager is primarily responsible for defining an agile product development backlog across Openreach.com in line with the content strategy and feature strategy defined by the Openreach Content Manager and Head of Digital & Content.

 

They will contribute to the creation of the digital product roadmap for an agile digital delivery squad and define a delivery plan in line with the requirements coming from the Content Manager and Head of Digital & Content and ensure the product backlog is delivered in a timely manner; from EPIC & Story creation to launching our new features on openreach.com.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Defining an agile product backlog for openreach.com in Jira or a suitable workstack tool of choice
  • Responsible for writing EPICs and stories; ensuring story purpose, idea definition, design, acceptance criteria, launch criteria and success metrics are well defined
  • Define the delivery plan for the agile product backlog, agreeing prioritisation of backlog items, identifying all risks and blockers and co-ordinating the squad to deliver
  • Report on the condition of the product backlog to the Content Manager and senior stakeholders to ensure we have a health well-defined and prioritised backlog
  • Report on the progress of the delivery plan to the Content Manager and senior stakeholders; ensuring all risk and blockers are highlighted and an appropriate plan in put in place to mitigate them
  • Support the execution of user testing by the Content Manager, ensuring that ideation turns from rapid prototyping to defined features for delivery by co-ordinating user testing within the squad
  • Responsible for delivering a high standard of accessibility, optimal SEO and a best in class user experience for all features defined in the feature strategy and existing features on openreach.com
  • Responsible for good communication with the senior leadership team within Corporate Affairs, our agile development squad and internal/external stakeholders

Required Skills

 

  • Strong experience with agile development tools such as Jira or Kanban
  • Excellent agile story writing skills
  • Ability to draw out user experiences using various prototyping tools to ensure shared understanding of feature development across the squad
  • Strong project management or scrum skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong experience in delivering digital experiences and improvements to the user experience through content
  • Good technical knowledge of how Content Management Systems works and their integration with APIs and other microservices; specifically Adobe Experience Manager
  • Strong ability to hold technical conversations whilst not losing sight of the overall user experience and user outcome
  • Good understanding of CRM systems and marketing platforms such as Salesforce and Adobe Marketing Cloud.
